Steve Collins, VoIP Team Member
Steve Collins joined Team One Networking in February of 2011. Prior to joining the team, Steve served in the US Navy for nine years where he trained as an Aviation Electronics Technician. He worked on A7 aircrafts for several air squadrons in Jacksonville, FL in addition to working on three different aircraft carriers throughout his career. Steve received an honorable discharge from the Navy in 1978.
Steve spent the next 20-plus years with Data General Corporation where he started out as a test technician for custom-built computers. He started his telecommunications career by maintaining Data General’s manufacturing site PBX. He then moved into the Wide Area Networking group and then on to Data General’s corporate headquarters.
In January of 2000 Steve left Data General and went to 3Com Corporation as a level two Voice Tech Support Engineer for their NBX product. Steve was later promoted to a level three Escalations Engineer. In 2001 he began working on the VCX product and was promoted to a Product Assurance Engineer in 2004. Steve finished his career at 3Com traveling to customer sites world-wide, solving issues too difficult for remote support staff. During this time Steve also trained VCX customers and support staff in maintenance and administration of VCX systems.
In addition to his vast voice knowledge and experience, Steve is also well versed in 3Com switching and routing. Steve is a great addition to our team and will bring value to any project he works on.
